ebbie Montgomery
Executive Director
Debbie@LynchburgRMA.com
A native of Virginia, Debbie Montgomery has lived in Lynchburg for over 25 years and has been involved with the Retail Merchants Association of Lynchburg since October 2006. She has been a great asset to this organization and has strived to revitalize this well known trade association with improvements in technology, office automation and current membership services beneficial to the business community.
As the Executive Director of the RMA Association AND the RMA Foundation, she brings not only professionalism but compassion to both branches. Formerly the Director of Administration for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Central Virginia for nine years, she is well aware of the needs of the non-profit organizations that our foundation serves.
In addition to her duties at RMA, Debbie never tires of involvement with several local Charities. Mrs. Montgomery’s holiday season would not be complete without participating in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. She has served on the committee since 2008, and was Co-Chair during the 2009 and 2010 campaign. In addition, she continues to have a passion for CASA of Central VA and has worked all but one of the Heart & Sole Fundraisers, annually giving that one weekend as a way to help this organization.
Another organization that was a passion was Crisis Line of Central Virginia and Debbie served on the Advisory Committee. This agency is no longer its own entity, but was successfully transitioned to Mental Health America of Lynchburg (Suicide Prevention) and the YWCA (Sexual Assault Response Program – SARP). As a National Business College graduate, Mrs. Montgomery believes that we can always grow and improve ourselves no matter what station in life we are in.
